The Sharp Record - April 8, 2009

Friends:

Thanks to you – last night was a BIG WIN!!! I cannot tell how many people told me it was the first time they had voted in a spring election, or they had never actually known anyone on their ballot. So, look below and those votes are all your fault! J

These are your new Johnson County Community College trustees, the number of votes and percentage of votes:

STEPHANIE SHARP             14592                         16.32%

MELODY RAYL                    12213                         13.66%

ROBERT K DRUMMOND    11504                         12.87%

JERRY COOK                         10709                         11.98%

Olathe & Shawnee Mission School Boards, City Councils, Mayors, and the WaterOne board were also elected yesterday. To view results for your community, visit the Johnson County Election Office website: www.jocoelection.org. Brian Newby and his team did an amazing job yesterday – full results were posted online around 9 pm!

Plus, all my friends on the Lenexa City Council won their seats – Dan Sullivan, Diane Linver and Cindy Green. The Council works so well together to keep Lenexa “Happy Town” that I was thrilled they were all re-elected. Councilwoman Jane Klein’s family was at a gathering of the City Council and friends last night and it was great to meet them and share stories about Jane. For those of you that have asked or are interested, the visitation will be Monday night, April 13, 4-8 pm at Holy Trinity (13615 W. 92nd) in Lenexa. The funeral will be at 10 am Tuesday morning, April 14, also at Holy Trinity. I look forward to serving  you in this new capacity and will keep you updated on activities of the board and cool things going on at Johnson County Community College. Please send me any ideas you might have for the board or JCCC and THANK YOU for your vote!
