Announcements

1.  Health Care deliberation:  If you participated in the previous discussion, please plan to join this one as well!  If you or someone you know received a hard-copy invitation, it means they were randomly selected to participate.  Please encourage them to do so!  The forum is also open to the public and 17th District constituents are specifically encouraged to attend!

This discussion is the second in a series of deliberative democracy forums.  This one will focus on health care access and affordability.  We needed more room and have moved to the Lenexa Senior Center at the corner of Santa Fe & Pflumm in Lenexa.

Who:  Any interested person

What:  Community dialogue on health care access & affordability, informal reception following discussion

When:  Monday, November 20th, 6:00-8:00 pm

Where:  Lenexa Senior Center, Santa Fe & Pflumm

Background information on the issue and deliberation format will be helpful and can be found on my website:  www.stephaniesharp.com/issues.htm.  If it isn't working for you, email me and I'll attach the document.  I couldn't get mine to work, but my web guru fixed it.

2.  Tomorrow, I will be moderating the "Let's Talk Issues" discussion.  Various experts from the Kansas City area and KU's new Confucius Institute will discuss "China: A New World Power."  You can watch live on Time Warner 17 or Comcast 22 at 7:00 pm.

Opportunities

I need an intern for the upcoming session.  My qualifications - KU or Washburn juniors or seniors (preference to seniors), you MUST be able to write well, and you'll probably want to be in a major field that will give you course credit for working in the legislature.  Interns usually schedule their courses for MWF and work TR, or vice versa.

Page dates will be announced as soon as I receive them in January.

Please do not hesitate to contact me about these or any other issues of interest to you.  I appreciate the opportunity to represent you in Topeka.
