Thank You!
Friends:
Here's the scoop:
Yard signs cost between $2.50 and $3.00 each, depending on the quantity you order. So, it's worth it to me NOT to have to buy more signs.
This is where you come in.
WHAT: $1 Yard Sign Rebate
WHEN: By Saturday, November 11, 2006
WHERE: Complete Garage, 15209 W. 87th Street, Lenexa
PS: Yes, "Thank You" signs are included, but please wait until Thursday to get those!
Bring in MY signs (this doesn't work for any other sign or Bonnie Sharp signs) for a $1 rebate EACH. I don't care where you get them and I'm not asking. Wayne Zetzman, a constituent and supporter, is offering his storefront, Complete Garage (15209 W. 87th St) as a collection point since I can't stay home all day waiting for them! His store is in the same center as Rimann Liquor, Panera Bread, and Westlake Hardware, at the SW corner of Lackman & 87th.
Complete Garage is open 10 am - 6 pmMonday-Friday and 9 am - 4 pmSaturdays. Simply bring in your signs and collect $1 for each of them you return by 4 pm SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11th.

Deep Thoughts by Rep. Sharp
My pastor spoke about the Parable of the Talents this weekend, how two of the servants took the Master's fortune, doubled their money, returning twice as much to the Master as they were given. The third servant, fearing the risk of investment, buried the treasure. He returned the money to the Master exactly as he had received it, no more no less. Pastor Adam's point was that as the leader of the church, he felt partially responsible for what we have done with our "talents" when we reach the pearly gates. Has he provided the support and information to feel comfortable taking the risk to double the "wealth" (think about this term in a broader sense), or trained us to be afraid of taking the next step?
This made me think about being your Representative and voting. I feel responsible for you. The goal of this newsletter is to increase your interest and in turn, participation, in your community and government. The end-all-be-all of this participation is the vote. I hope you are more informed, that it is easier to stay informed, and that you have an open conduit to the government for which you choose and pay. In the end, I hope this makes you a more frequent voter.
From my favorite bumper sticker: "The world is run by those who show up."
Today, be the one that shows up.
